About Pat Vander Wal

Donna Service Design in Summerland is a family-owned and- operated business. It was our founder Pat Vander Wal’s passion for designing that got this company started. She has a design experience of 40 years and specializes in problem windows like angles, arches, ‘difficult to treat’ windows.

40 Years of Design Experience

Pat received her degree in Interior Design in 1970, at the Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta. She then operated JP Custom Draperies in Calgary for 10 years and moved to Victoria, BC in 1989, where she opened Ashbury’s Custom Draperies and served the clientele for 15 years. Since 2007, Pat also worked at the Benjamin Moore/True Colours Window Coverings in Penticton for 5 years.

Pat specializes in dealing with challenging design projects and has a team of professional installers, seamstresses, manufacturers and upholsterers to work with. She listens carefully to her client’s needs and is innovative in her approach to the use of just the right fabric or blind solutions for your home or business. She also enjoys space planning for interiors and has many sources of fabrics and upholstery materials for the hospitality and care home industries.
